What to do in your 40s | Doing My 1st Ever Health Screening

I guess if not for my colleague, I won't even think about going for a health screening (because expensive and troublesome). She talked me out that since 40 years old already, better go check than never because you won't know if you have any underlying medical conditions unless you get yourself checked. And somemore under company expenses (staff welfare). Fine! I go. My 1st full health screening ever in my life dedicated to Fullerton Health.
So 1 day before the health screening, I fasted from 10pm till our appointment the next day. More than 8 hours yo. Drank water as much to fill the stomach up. Had only honey dew and some airfried nuggets for dinner. Hungry but bearable.
On that day, little did I expect many people flowing in for health screening. So Health is Wealth ya. After all the safe entry and briefing at their counter, we were led to our individual pods. Wow... as if you are inside a Business or First class seat in a plane. Take a look at the screen grabs from Fullerton Health website.

There was a wall height ruler. I measured myself and was convinced I'm taller a littler than my current height of 160. But apparently not, after I got my height and weight taken by the nurse. So deceiving this height ruler. Never believe in this ever again. At least I'm not shorter than my actual height 160. Heng ahhh...

My colleague and I got side by side pods and the view was brilliant. A 180Ā° glance at the rich people residences at the back of Takashimaya while waiting to be attended. And you just have to selfie with the background despite the windows being a little dirty and stained. The building management needed external facade cleaning soon. Much needed.

Being a specky doesn't mean I couldn't spot things from far, though I suspect my degrees have increased after the eye check. Ya huh... must lessen screen time liao. Damn it!
Zoom in to take a shot at this colonial house. So nice and I even sent to my dad. This one looks like a clubhouse but my dad thinks it maybe some embassies or foreign agencies. I think he is right. I googled and found out it was High Commission of India. Tell me if I'm wrong. Nice building they worked in.

Another one looks like abandoned and haunted house in my opinion. But after showing my hub the photo, he said last time belonged to OCBC Group's 1st chairman and it was called Chee Guan Chiang House . A lot of story behind so just google it and read.

And so done with the 1st station, blood test. Actually they just take our blood samples in 3 bottles, 1 big and 2 smaller ones (if I remember correctly). Oh ya they took our drink order before hand (mine green tea) and once after your blood taken, they served up breakfast and drink like the following.

Then I stopped to think after 2 pieces, if I eat now will it affect the results through urine? Because we have not take our urine and stool samples yet. I'm not apologetic over this because it was my first time. Maybe I could do better by understanding each station more. Probably I won't take health screening for granted then. Told Mister about this and he said yes, blood test could test on whether you are high in sugar level or kena diabetes.
I did not finished the food (just had 2) because my colleague said it was cold and not nice, though I find it okay thou. Because I pai seh so never finished. All included mah so why waste? But I finished up the water and tea. Much needed. Hahaha.... shit! If I knew there were food, should bring a container to bring back office for tea break. Hahaha cheapo to the max and I liked it. Make it worthy!
So we waited in our individual pod for people to attend to us for each station. Now I understood why my colleague dragged me along. At least we could chit chat while waiting. From 10am to 12noon then we are done. Phew...

The doctor said I should exercise 150mins per week. I can't help rolling my eyes but did not ask further though. I assumed is because of my weight or BMI? Fine! I shall increase my exercise duration then.
We did mammogram and just nice October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. After we are done with the screening, the counter staff gave us a gift for whoever did Mammogram I think.

Oh ya... remember to wear pants, shorts or skirt because I realized we are always top naked for x-ray, mammogram, ECG and etc. My colleague said if you wear dress, you have to take the entire dress out. Wahaha...
The stool sample was not given to them when we were there. No poop poop how to give? The counter staff said we could bring the bottle with us and sent it back within the next few days to be included in our report. So when we reached office, we were talking away and decided that for our convenient, we should check if we could deposit the specimen at the nearest centre which for us is Ocean Financial Centre. Oh yes we can. So I had another hot green tea to stimulate the poop process. And I made it and immediately headed to the centre for a poo drop (deposit lah).

Another colleague of mine told me the process of your own stool collection which I find it impossible. What if my pee and poop come out at the same time? Then I'll be asking for trouble only with the cleaner. Like some particular country people who let their kid defecates at the airport in public area. What??? So I used my own way without contaminating my stool for test. Hehehe.... in a rather civilized manner.
What an experience doing my 1st full health screening and I hope you peeps don't get bored or gross over it. I never share much details. I felt like a mountain tortoise but enjoying it thou. Everything just feels so new. Hahaha... Now let's wait for the report in 2 weeks' time. Praying for good results please. *fingers crossed* Cheers.
Update: Gotten back my medical report. All things well, just need to tackle the cholesterol level (near high) and also exercise more. Yeah!
