Food Review | Pot Addiction at Sun Plaza

My bestie brought me here for dinner. New place explored. This is a Korean BBQ and Hotpot Buffet place located inside Sun Plaza Level 2. They have an extensive range of food for BBQ and hotpot, from meat, and seafood to must-have items for hotpot. Even cooked food and drinks too. Much more affordable than the renowned ones.

Here you pay before dining. You can have everything you see but seems like there is a time limit for dining. The price was reasonable for the hotpot/BBQ buffet, about $30++ per pax. Also, I spotted a 1 seater table so if you want some me-time, this is the right place.

Raw Food and Seafood Section

We got ourselves some Pork Belly and Pork Collar for BBQ. Then some seafood like prawns, scallops and bamboo clams. The rest of the common hotpot items like ring rolls, luncheon meats, hotdogs, Chinese sausages and so on. They have Chicken Bulgogi for BBQ too.

Drinks and Cooked Food Section

πŸ‘Korean Glass Noodles (or Japchae) were well-cooked in texture and light flavour.
πŸ‘Tteokbokki (or Rice Cakes) was cooked in sweet sauce. Chewy and not spicy at all.
πŸ‘ŒWanted my favourite Coke but instead tried their Korean Vinegar drink which my Bestie recommended. It tasted sweet but just find nothing vinegar instead, tastes more like lemon tea.

They have fried chicken wings and are easily snapped up in minutes. Managed to take two pieces for Bestie to try.

Condiments Section

There are different condiments to mix or use as your hotpot and BBQ dips. Comparable with City Hotpot though. On a side note, their Kimchi lacked depth in flavour but was crunchy. But that is a must-have to wrap with greens, meat, garlic slice and chilli. Eat like a Korean do.

Our Spread on the 1st round

Our Meat 😁

I like that we don't smell of BBQ after our dinner because of the Korean BBQ Exhaust hood. This is so important in every Korean BBQ restaurant. I suggest Mookata restaurants also have this exhaust hood installed too. I can't always spray scents after every BBQ meal. Too much of a hassle.

Seafood and random food that is BBQ-able

Our Yuan-Yang Pot of Tom Yum and Tonkotsu

They have 6 soup bases to choose from like Chicken Herbal, Mala, Tom Yum, Mushroom, Tonkotsu and Sukiyaki. Of course, I will choose Tom Yum and Bestie choose Tonkotsu base. It was served up to us when we got to our table. Tom Yum soup does taste like a blend of sour, spicy and savoury elements. But lack the aromatic flavour.

The attention we got from their staff was quite okay. Cleared off plates, topped up soup, and changed grill paper. Service is good and fast. I don't need freebies hacks, free noodles shows or whatever. Doing what is necessary for the best dining experience is more important. πŸ‘

Overall, it is a pocket-friendly place for a few good friends to gather over hotpot/BBQ but the downside is they have a time limit (according to my Bestie). And for picky foodies, if you have high expectations for this buffet place, this is not for you. But you can try because everyone has individual preferences. Probably you find it good.

A wefie at the station

Thank you my dear for the treat and the cool thermal flask. Always glad to meet up with you because we can talk about anything under the moon, just you and me. Happy Belated Birthday to both of us! Wish us both abundance of happiness, health and wealth. And am happy that I finally gifted you a proper birthday present after all these years. Cheers!

A THANK YOU video is up on my Youtube Channel now! Really appreciate all of you!
