My 41st in April

41 years on earth and counting. Shall be grateful for the things along the way from birth till now. Fallen, Stood Back Again, and Tougher than ever. Thankful for my parents who had me, my bro my playmate since his arrival in the family 4 years after me and his wife who is my SIL (of course), my husband who is always annoying yet tolerating of my every single nonsense and also his entire family for accepting me.

Born a loud Rooster and stubborn Taurus, I have never wonder how others tolerate me. Hahaha... I really don't care. Like me or not, 41 years already. I have people who come and go in my life (everybody also the same lah) and they were the greatest lessons in my life that made me who I am now.

Began my April a happy one, starting with a small lunch celebration for my dad's birthday in advance. Yes he is an April baby too. Fate brought him his first born on the same month as his birthday. One head, one tail (that's me). 不亏是爸爸的前世情人. The lunch I ordered from The Hainan Story so read here.

Then had lunch at Nakhon Kitchen with Mister's family on a following Saturday after visiting the niche of their parents (my in-laws). Maybe because I wasn't having any rice (on keto diet) so I just felt all the food very salty and I had to order 2 drinks to quench the thirst (maybe a 3rd one if not because we are leaving already). Anyway, satisfied my Thai food craving, especially Tom Yum soup. I felt like having Phad Thai but went with the majority.

Then my dates with family and friends began. Starting with a Taiwanese Stone Hotpot dinner with these two on a Wednesday evening. Read about Feima Stone Hotpot here. Please fly me to Taiwan soon. I want my food craving and Taiwanese vibes satisfied further!

Presents from them. Love you piggies! I may be a annoying friend but still, I love you women... continue our 减肥行动 Lose Weight Mission. Hey... if my girlfriend lose about 8kg, she is gonna treat us to Bangkok via Scoot. Better than nothing. Wish her luck, and me too.

Fun fact: Do you know I'm a bag person since young? Play from cheapo bags of all kinds even bucket bag I bought from Taiwan to now, beginner to luxury brands starting w Dior.

Yes... come to me if you want a bag collaboration, especially crossbody bags. I really don't mind so long as the design is right for me.

My very 1st Pedro handbag. Simple, nice and classy. I bet my bestie wished that I can be more feminine. Okay I shall grant the wish. This handbag is hot and sturdy too.

And this one to upkeep myself. Old liao also must look good. Okay I follow. I also don't want to look old and haggard as age catches up. Pop more fruits and veggies, tonics and supplements, and exercises.

Next. Continued the following Thursday afternoon with my SILs and niece for lunch. Just nice my 2nd SIL came back from Melbourne and so an opportunity to bond with all of them at one go. Read about Cafe Q Classified here. Happy Cafe Hopping!

Also went back to their house for dinner on Good Friday and as requested by my SIL, I baked the Japanese Cheesecake on that day so that it is fresh. Thank God it turned out well because I have not been baking it for so long already. For their dessert. Hehehe... plain looking but baked with love.

Here's the homecooked dinner, supposedly a nasi lemak feast but I'm on keto diet again so no carbs (rice). Just had mutton, prawns and so on will do the trick. Spicy but it was good!

And then on Saturday, another round with my ex-colleagues now friends. Just enjoyed their company because we always have each other to 壮胆 for luxury brands shopping. I always feel inferior because those stuff are just too expensive but at the same time, you just wanna own one. They were the ones who went with me to purchase my 1st in 40 years, Dior Book Tote bag. Anyway, our high-tea at Lady M Champagne Bar. Read here.

And my favourite TWG tea from them. ❤️ a mix of English Breakfast, French Earl Grey and Chamomile. Shall share the Chamomile with my Mister. Expensive tea must savour bit by bit. I know because Mister only wants good Chamomile tea and especially TWG (at the moment).

Fun Fact: Again, I'm a tea person more than coffee. Whoever knows me should know by now. So I take tea collaboration too. Write to me ya. Let's talk.

Another Saturday, visit my folks to catch up on gossips and also nag on them if I see anything not right. Being loud in the family, they also can't stand my grumbling every time I come back. Too bad. You all gave birth to a loud lady.

Lunch as usual, half cooked half bought as usual. Standard dishes on the table: Roasted meat or chicken/duck, homecooked soup and prawns.

Bought some Png Kueh and Soon Kueh from the hawker centre. Long queue but once awhile is okay. Was chatting with the lady in front as it was her first time here to try out the food in this hawker centre after reading newspaper recommendation. The queue felt shorter as we chatted.

My dad bought a super creamy and nice design cake from a bakery at the shophouses. Guess what? I scrapped those cream away and my dad wanted it. Don't understand too. Anyway the cake wasn't too dry and sweetness came from the white chocolate flakes on the side and the cream too. Passable taste test. And that's how we celebrate one another's birthday since young.

And when your bestie decided to surprise you with some bread and cakes from Paris Baguette on the eve of your birthday. At night around 8+. So considerate in getting Chamomile tea because the husband always will have one cup after dinner. Thank you soooooooooooo much Yen! Also, I'm not admitting to my boring life. NOOOOO!!!! But you did surprised me. *hugz*

So on my birthday itself, gonna be spending it with the husband. Same thing on his birthday.

First order of business, lunch at Tsui Wah @ JEM. Brought him here to try the wonton mee for his verdict on whether it is good. He said normal and preferred the one at Crystal Jade. Better foodie than me.

Read here for my previous review of Tsui Wah. The Bolo Bun with Char Siew was good, flaky on the outside with the sweet Char Siew fillings inside. I favoured the Fried Chicken Wings which tasted like Har Cheong Gai and fried well. The Grilled Pork Chop has the right tender texture and not overly-cooked till rubbery.

Grilled Lyon-Style Pork Chop on Sizzling Plate (Onion Sauce) Set

And we ended the day with Japanese food for dinner at Himawari Japanese Restaurant. Read the fresh review here. Definitely a day where no diet is allowed. But still find a possible way to cut the carbs in my indulgence.

I should celebrate my birthday for the whole week so I went on to redeem my birthday cake from Starbucks for lunch post birthday. Not much of choices but Tiramisu was good enough because it was my favourite. And a cup of Mocha Frap which I seldom have. Need a change at times.

My belated birthday Tiramisu from my colleague. Love for Tiramisu just grew stronger. I made at home before but that was so many years ago. Anyway, let's indulge and thank you woman! Long live the Tiramisu!!! So creamy, smooth and not sweet.

And my last redemption from Starbucks for my birthday. Had Caramel Macchiato. Ordered through the app and got to customize my drink to Low fat, less syrup and so on. Less guilt while indulging.

Thank you for all the wishes from everyone and I love April every year (and also December because of Christmas and his birthday too) because that is the only time I can be the Queen of the month. Haha... till my 42 next year. And stay tune for more interesting blog posts from me. Ciao.
