*Paris video right at the end of this post*
Finally completed Paris right in this post. I actually split France into two parts because it would get a little too lengthy if all 3 places were in 1 (already lengthy just on Paris). This time in Paris, got to see Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triomphe, and places that I only get to see in movies or dramas, now finally fulfilled! Thank God I insisted to go on this Europe trip as it has broadened my knowledge bank with the foreign cultures, ways of living, and beautiful sceneries so far. Looking forward to other parts of Europe the next time. But for now, enjoy the last bits of my Central Europe adventure.
NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS
Notre-Dame de Paris |
Notre Dame de Paris (also Notre Dame Cathedral) is a famous medieval Catholic cathedral with one of the finest French Gothic architecture and has played a significant role in France's history and cultural heritage. The cathedral is also renowned for its stunning stained glass windows, intricate stone carvings, and imposing bell towers, with the iconic gargoyles and the flying buttresses as their notable features of its exterior.
Unfortunately in April 2019, a devastating fire broke out and caused significant damage to the cathedral. The spire and the roof collapsed, and parts of the interior were also damaged. Right now, restoration and rebuilding efforts to its former glory are underway as you can see from the photo. We didn't get down to take a closer look because we have our itinerary for the day so the best shot from the coach.
ARC DE TRIOMPHE
Arc De Triomphe |
The Arc de Triomphe is a famous monument that stands at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. A popular tourist attraction and you can climb to the top for panoramic views of Paris, including a clear view of not only the Champs-Élysées but the surrounding cityscape. The various angles to get your best shots of yourself and the monument, probably find a safer angle than in the middle of the road because the footway is narrow and crowded with others who want the same shot.

EIFFEL TOWER
Oops... someone got 'poked' by Eiffel Tower |
The Eiffel Tower is an iconic landmark that has the most recognizable structures in the world and is a symbol of Paris. Standing at a height of 1,083 feet tall (including its antennas), visitors can take elevators or climb the stairs to reach the different levels of the tower for breathtaking views of Paris' landmarks, such as the Champs de Mars, the Seine River, and the Louvre Museum.
There are also various places to get the best shots of yourself and the Eiffel Tower and Place du Trocadéro is one of the many with an elevated and open space.
THE STREETS OF PARIS
Shopping Streets of Paris |
Ready for a shopping spree? |
Galeries Lafayette |
Trying to be sensible with my spending in Euro. So nope, I did not buy anything at Galeries Lafayette. Also, they have 3 buildings, how do finish walking before our gather time? So just walking around a few floors in one building will do the trick. Oh, by the way, I bought macarons from Pierre Hermes when I saw them inside the mall. I don't usually buy macarons back in Singapore so since in the country of origin, just splurge and enjoy the French sweetness.

MUSÉE DU LOUVRE
The LOURVE |
The Louvre, also known as the Louvre Museum (Musée du Louvre), is one of the world's most famous and largest art museums. It is housed in the Louvre Palace, which was originally a medieval fortress and later a royal palace.
The Louvre Museum is renowned for its vast collection of art and historical artifacts, Some of the most famous artworks in the Louvre include the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace.
Louvre Museum |
Oh, I think I saw 3 mini Louvres and a big one which is the main iconic one. And we did not go to the exhibition to see that small piece of the Mona Lisa painting because of the long queue and expensive tickets. I prefer to explore more of the surrounding during my free time. Haha...
MONTMARTRE
Montmartre is a historic neighborhood situated on a hill in the northern part of the city, known for its bohemian atmosphere, charming streets, and artistic heritage. It has a rich artistic history and was a gathering place for many renowned artists, writers, and intellectuals from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. It's vibrant atmosphere and creative energy drew artists like Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec to frequent the area. Even today, Montmartre still retains its artistic spirit and you can find numerous art galleries, studios, and street artists showcasing their works.
THE BASILICA OF THE SACRED HEART OF PARIS |
One of the most famous landmarks in Montmartre is the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur (or The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris), a stunning white Catholic church that sits atop the hill. The basilica is a popular tourist attraction that is visited by millions of tourists each year as it offers a spectacular panoramic view of Paris.

My favorite Starbucks housed in an ageless building |
Charming streets with an ivy-covered house |
Its narrow, winding streets lined with quaint cafés, bistros, and shops create a charming and picturesque ambiance.
And Place du Tertre is a lively square and popular spot for artists and tourists alike. You might probably want your portrait painted on the spot or just simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere. That was what we did after the souvenir shopping. Watch my latest video at the end of this post for Place du Tertre.
Quaint café like this makes me wish that I have more time to sit down, and enjoy a latte through the relaxing afternoon |
Selling sugar-coated peanuts like our local Kacang Puteh |
My Ang Moh Kacang Puteh, just peanuts no others |
MOULIN ROUGE |
Moulin Rouge is a famous cabaret and entertainment venue located in the Montmartre neighborhood and best known for its vibrant atmosphere, the iconic red windmill, can-can dancers, and extravagant shows. Now Moulin Rouge continues to attract visitors from around the world to come to experience its unique blend of history, entertainment, and Parisian charm. Snap this photo onboard the bus and it made me curious about the show, especially the can-can dance.
MONTPARNASSE TOWER
Eiffel Tower from Montparnasse Tower |
The Montparnasse Tower (or Tour Montparnasse) is a skyscraper that has close proximity to the Montparnasse train station and is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the city.
One side of Paris's view |
It has an observation deck on the 56th floor, known as the Montparnasse 56 Panoramic Visit, offering visitors a 360-degree view of Paris, allowing them to see famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Louvre Museum.
This skyscraper is just like Taipei 101, 85 Sky Tower Kaohsiung, or even Melbourne's Eureka Skydeck. So I don't think there is a need to buy a ticket to go up. Mine is included in the tour so just capture some views for your peeps.
SEINE RIVER CRUISE
On board Seine River Cruise |
Last night in Paris and we headed for an hour of Seine River Cruise whilst embracing the cold sitting outdoor. To me, it is a good way to see Paris without moving around too much. Was anticipating Eiffel Tower illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights but it didn't that night. Instead, it just lighted up after a long wait due to daylight saving time? Or go on strike too? Watch out for the river cruise video on my Youtube Channel soon!
Lighted-Up Eiffel Tower |
Coming to an end of my Europe postings. Still left with Brussels and Amsterdam. So sad my postings last longer than the physical trip itself. Nevertheless, all the wonderful scenes in memories.
But don't forget about my European Adventure blog posts if you have missed out:
