Time flies when you are having fun during your travel. Coming down to the last few days in Hokkaido and I actually wish it don't end just yet. But reality hits hard sometimes. And the husband actually wanted to be back again for a free & easy trip. Let's see how we work on that later. Let's get going!
SHIROI KOIBITO PARK白い恋人
Shiroi Koibito cookies became very common for everyone who visits Japan as it was one of those gifts you will get for your family and friends, on top of Royce Chocolates and some others. This trip I actually bought them too (unlike other trips to Japan). I like their milk chocolate cookies (chocolatey taste) more than the white chocolate (kind of sweet) actually. Gonna grab more next time when I head to Japan (though you can get them in Singapore too).
Outside Shiroi Koibito Park |
So here we are at Shiroi Koibito Park for a visit. Look so much like a theme park from the outside but actually more like a museum on the inside. The park conveyed the beauty of England which the founder was fascinated about so you will see both British and Hokkaido cultures merge.
There are lots of activities for everyone from the introduction of the chocolate making inventions at Chocotopia House to watching the production lines live at Chocotopia Factory. Chill a little at their restaurant or café. Remember to try their soft serve and also grab some souvenirs at Piccadilly.

BBQ LUNCH + ¥10000 WAGYU BEEF
Our ¥10000 WAGYU BEEF |
Headed for BBQ lunch after the Park visit. My ideal diet with meat (protein) and veggie (fiber) all in this meal (check out my YT Short below). Plus, we ordered Wagyu Beef and it was good and tender. Forgot to take a video of the staff grilling our Wagyu Beef and the sizzling sound on the grill pan. YUMMY! You can dip with the sauce or salt provided but still prefer having it at its original.

SAPPORO BEER MUSEUM
Since 1877, Sapporo Beer is one of the oldest and most popular beer brands in Japan. Opened in 1987 in a former brewery from the Meiji Period, it introduces the history and process of beer making in Japan. After viewing the exhibitions, you can pay a small fee for beer tastings. Not forgetting to grab souvenirs too (I got my drinking glasses).

I like this drinking glass but I got another one instead. |

This walking street, dating back to 1873, is one of Hokkaido’s oldest shopping streets. One of the largest covered shopping arcades with a span of around 900m across seven blocks with around 200 shops. They have restaurants selling Sapporo specialties like miso ramen and soup curry and specialty stores selling favorite local souvenirs. There's bound to have something that suit everyone’s needs. Each block has its distinctive vibe that the locals established as their hangout place based on their generation or preferences.

One of the tour group member said this plaster is cheaper in Japan and quite good. So we past by Sapporo Drugs Store and immediately went in to find. The shelf is like half empty so no doubt on that. Good or not depends on individual. And if you follow their FB page, use their discount coupons when making payment, whether you are doing tax refund or not.

JAPANESE STYLE DINNER
I google the restaurant name of our dinner venue called Kaniya at Level 3. The ambience was good in a traditional Japanese-style setting where we sat on the floor. Their staff wear kimono (or yukata) to serve each table too. The dinner set has a variety of food from sushi, chawanmushi to crabs and we were so full by the time we 'fought' till the last dish a.k.a dessert. Others in our tour group were unable to do so. I think we are good and never waste a single bits of food. That again explained our holiday fats.

Don't you think it looks like the one at Dotonbori, Osaka? |

Did a short 1 min compilation video on my YouTube Channel. Watch for a quick glimpse of the shopping street and our dinner venue. Also our 2 nights hotel stay at Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo.
So my verdict: I shall give Shiroi Koibito Park and Sapporo Beer Museum a miss and spend more time exploring Tanukikoji Shopping Street for shopping and dining. Now I roughly know where I will visit again if I come back to Hokkaido. Okay thanks bye!
