Stepping Into Luxury: My First Visit to the Prada Caffè

Finally a visit to Prada Caffè with bestie

Actually we tried our luck to score a seat in January 2025 but it wasn't opened to public yet. Until March 2025, passing by the boutique triggers my memory and decided to see if it is ready. Oh yeah... we were in luck and got to enjoy an afternoon tea before heading home after our day out. We were there on a Monday afternoon and no crowd but do plan your visit in advance because of limited seating.

The interior of the Caffè presented the iconic color of Prada with the green walls, velvet sofas and chairs, along with a perfect reproduction of the black-and-white chequered floor of the first historic Prada boutique that opened in 1913 in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan.

Selected by Prada, the original and exclusive tableware matches the surroundings with the pale-blue porcelain inspired by ancient Celadon pottery, using an age-old colored glazing technique from Japan to create a minimalist and modernist look, alongside silver-plated cutlery.

Bestie ordered a pot of Peppermint Tea SGD12 and a Hot Chocolate SGD12 for myself. That was like a 2nd cup of Hot Chocolate for the day. Luckily didn't ordered a Hot Chocolate at Dior event. I felt so Chocolatey. But the Hot Choc served at Prada was different. The European style Hot Chocolate that was thicker and more intense taste. The flavor was deep from the high quality dark chocolate or cocoa that gives the bittersweet richness. It gives you the lip-smacking feel thereafter. A small milk jug that comes with the Hot Chocolate for you to mix when needed. Trying with or without milk is a must to determine your liking. I would go without for the richness. Totally different from all the Hot Chocolate I have tasted before.

What is afternoon tea without some cakes and stuff, right? So bestie chose Tiramisu SGD 24 and Red Fruits SGD 24 to go with our drinks. Tiramisu has an indulgent flavor that is both creamy and coffee-forward. Combined with layers of soft, coffee-soaked ladyfingers with a smooth, velvety mascarpone cream. The unsweetened cocoa powder dusted on top adds a bitter, earthy note that contrasts with the sweetness of the cream. It is a comforting treat with a complex yet harmonious flavor. Red Fruits cake has a vibrant and tangy sweetness that comes from the mix of berries cream combined with the light and moist sponge cake. These elements create a refreshing and indulgent treat that's both fruity and comforting.

There is good and bad for this visit. The good was being able to try some nice, exquisite desserts and drinks. The bad is having to walk around the boutique after tea-time (can someone break my legs?) and spotted something that intrigued my interest. Now I have the urge to return to see the accessories. Really bad for the pocket ya. Okay your turn to go. Enjoy!
