Tiong Bahru Bakery at Vivo City |
I went to grab some pastries and bread for the folks before heading back to them on a Friday lunch hour. And I have a problem choosing which to get them because they all looked so yummy especially those tarts (they look pretty too).

A big bag with a baguette and 4 pastries |
Not knowing why I choose Green Tea Croissant (probably a random pick) and ended up with something that taste more like kaya (the fillings) than green tea taste. Okay, a hint of green tea, a little sweet (not overwhelming though), and crispy pastry on the outside.

Just not long ago, met my ladies over dinner (click here for Fufu Pot Review) and coffee thereafter at Tiong Bahru Bakery too. Excellent place to chill out. We were kind of late and left with an hour to enjoy each other's company before they close at 10pm. Had a good, rich hot chocolate with excellent coffee art. Oh, by the way, the Kougn Amann was sweet for me though.

The white and Green theme at Ralph's Coffee Shop |
Drawn to pop-up cafes from well-known brands and here I am at Ralph's Coffee Shop with my bestie. It was a small café beside their retail shop, with a seating capacity of 6 pax so you have to queue when full house or just go in for take-outs. The ambience was good and the shop was bright and clean. Although it wasn't Halal-certified, I did see Muslim friends coming for their drinks.

Connecting between retail and coffee shop |
The Ralph's Coffee Shop was connected to their retail shop for you to shop after your coffee break.
Merchandise on display |
Their display of merchandise from mugs, tumblers, apparel, and more for you to purchase as keepsakes. Pricey by the way, though I loved their Bearista mug ($49) and the cup with saucer set.
Our tea break at Ralph's Coffee Shop |
Ordered Ralph's Coffee ($5.50), Hot Chocolate ($8), a slice of Ralph's Cheesecake ($13), and a piece of Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie ($7) to try out. Too bad, no soft serve on that day we went.
Hot Chocolate and Cookie |
My bestie who had their Ralph's coffee found it nothing special (you are talking to a coffee lover btw) and as for my hot chocolate, was neither rich nor chocolatey enough. The cookie was crumbly and sweet from the chocolate chips. But the sea salt taste wasn't all over so just salty and sweet if you wanted me to conclude the taste. Lastly, the cheesecake 👍 tasted light with the cream cheese not overly strong. It won't make you feel jelak-ness.

At PS.Cafe, Paragon |
The only thing that comes to mind at PS.Cafe will be their Truffle Shoestring Fries. A must-order for every table so the first order of business when I'm seated, order the fries to start the ball rolling.
Truffle Shoestring Fries |
Grated with Parmesan cheese, the Truffle Fries tasted lighter than in some other places. It was crispy for sure (while it is hot), but I wonder why it still needed chili and tomato sauces (probably for those who need sauces). You spoilt the truffle taste. Then I rather you go to Mcdonald's for normal fries and that will be appropriate with the sauce. Let Truffle fries be Truffle fries.
Tiger Beer-Battered Fish & Chips |
The side for my Fish & Chips can be changed between fries and salad, so of course I took salad. The fillets are fresh and you can taste them with every bite because not overly seasoned. Plus the batter coated over it isn't too thick. Crispy without being too oily and I love dipping lightly with tartar sauce and on its own. The only downside is the portion too small for the price.
Green Goddess Pesto Penne |
When it was served up to my friend, the strong pesto smell made me cringe a little. There was broccoli, asparagus and sliced cheese so it was more on the savory side. Kind of strange when the smell and taste didn't sync. Super healthy pasta if you are looking at eating clean. But I guess I'm not a pesto person.
Simply Seared Barramundi |
Simple main course with a slice of fresh barramundi that was nicely seared with crisp skin. And the risotto was well-cooked and creamy. Nothing fancy.
Tiramisu Cheesecake |
I tasted more Tiramisu than Cheesecake as it greeted me with the coffee taste first. With vanilla ice cream and chopped nuts on the side, a very normal slice of cake with a conflict of taste buds.

New Place Explored |
Followed my bestie to try the onigiri from Mr. Onigiri after coming across them through Instagram. A small aesthetic shop with seating capacity for at least 8-10 pax. No one will serve you so pick up your orders and clear them after you are done.
Inside the shop |
Our Meal for the Day |
We each ordered a different set that either came with a drink ($6.80 and specifically, Double Ebi Onigiri only) or a drink and fries ($12.80). Reasonably priced.
Double Ebi Onigiri $6.90 |
Had Double Ebi Onigiri and I loved how crispy and fresh the Ebi was. On top of that, a slice of spam meat, omelet, and cucumber, drizzled with tartar sauce. This is good enough to fill your tummy for one meal, though the size is a little big for my mouth.
Otah Onigiri $7.90 |
According to my bestie, the otah tasted similar to the one from NTUC (Muah Otah) and the cucumber gave an additional crunch on every bite. However, the shoestring fries drizzled with Mentaiko sauce on top were kind of soggy which some might prefer crispy type. I shall come back for another onigiri on their menu for lunch one day.
