Top 5 Favourite Food Delivery Orders

Realized I should do a post on what we usually order for our meals via Food Delivery app on days when we are totally lazy to cook. Yes we, meaning myself and the Mister. During the Circuit Breaker period, who doesn't use food delivery apps to cater for your stomach? Or for your grocery needs? Cannot go out unnecessary you know. For us, probably just went to the supermarket once awhile to top up for our kitchen and toiletries needs. Most of the time we cook. Since the start of Phase 2, we opt more on food delivery. Convenient, just eat and throw. Of course wash your hands and mouth.

We also get to try on different food in our area, which we hardly will go and look for it. Rarely did we go for food hunt. Unless with my friends, once awhile.

The purpose of this post is also to show you peeps what are some food choices you can have in Yishun (or Nee Soon) area. Those selected to be in my post here were based on the most orders from Jan-Mar 2021 (thou Mar is not even over yet). And most of them were noodles! Like I really like noodles than rice. I hardly wanna touch rice (if cook at home, no choice lor) and I don't know why. Don't ask me.

I think the one and only starred stall is the first one, Lai Yuan Gourment (Yishun). Why? Because their delivery fee is the cheapest. Why again? Because is very near my place of course. If I ever want to save that delivery fee, I opt for pick up and walk over to collect. But I chose to be delivered to me. Why? Why like that? Lazy until I cannot. 😭 Serve me right. That is why I don't talk about delivery fee because I think it depends on distances. At times, I will look for free delivery too. 🤣 But have to hit the minimum purchase. Anyways, some already quite pricey as compared to buying direct from the stalls. Sure can hit.

And nope. I'm not telling you which food delivery app I'm using always forever. Because is all the same. No biggie. And they don't pay me to promote them. Wahahahahh.... And the ranking is not in sequence to be fair.

NUMBER 1 - LAI YUAN GOURMENT (YISHUN) ⭐

How we determine the best Minced meat noodles stall depends on the portion given. After trying out a few stalls in the app, we decided that Lai Yuan will be on our list. The portion given is quite consistent with every order. Please don't fail us.

The usual order is Lai Yuan Sliced Abalone Minced Meat noodles. There is a combo that comes with 2 bowls of noodles and fishball soup. Ideal for us (the soup), especially Mister because he needs soup and I love fishballs. Nothing is gonna be wasted. And inside the bowl are a few slices of abalone, minced and sliced meat, and even pig liver.

Order(s): Sliced Abalone Minced Meat Noodles, Lai Yuan Fishball Soup

Address: Block 504 Yishun Street 51 #01-01 Stall 9 Singapore 760504

NUMBER 2 - ORIGINAL TANJONG RHU WANTON NOODLE (YISHUN)

Mister was the one who introduced me to this Wantan noodles stall and he tried before in their physical shop. He literally changed my mind on Wantan noodles. They are definitely better than our previous favourite.

The noodles are QQ at the right texture (I hate soggy ones) and their chilli are really spicy. Not only a  generous portion of noodles but also a pack filled with char siew, vegetables, a fried and boiled wantan.

In additional, we will add sides like Fried Wantan and Dumplings. Never enough because the fillings inside come with a good amount of juiciness. However, the Fried Dumplings a little pricey for just 4 pieces. Don't come telling me that the size of the dumplings are bigger than wantan. But still cannot resist ordering.

Order(s): Wanton Noodles, Fried Wanton, Fried Dumplings, Wanton Soup

Address: Block 632 Yishun Street 61, Stall 6, #01-14 Singapore 760712

NUMBER 3 - NAINA'S KITCHEN

Beehoon Goreng Merah

Mee Goreng Merah

We are guessing whether it is the usual stall at Yishun Park Hawker we always get our Mee Goreng and Beehoon Goreng. Turns out it is not but still in the same hawker centre.

What makes us like the stall is because of the generous portion (at lousy times, just normal portion). You can feel it with the weight. Also their mee goreng and beehoon goreng aren't those plain ones but with vegetables, small cubes/chunks of potatoes and meat. Not plenty but at least every mouthful is satisfying. And Mister loves his food in red (merah).

Oh yes, we use spoon for our noodles. Much easier than using a fork. Try is to believe. Go ahead.

Order(s): Nasi Goreng Merah, Beehoon Goreng Merah, Mee Goreng Merah, Murtabak Mutton

Address: 51 Yishun Ave 11, #01-13 Yishun Park Hawker Centre, Singapore 768867

NUMBER 4 - HUP LEE CHONG PANG

This popular stall was introduced to me way back when I was dating my now husband. His sister will go and buy breakfast at Chong Pang. Either beehoon mee or nasi lemak.

Whenever the food is delivered, we will mix it with some black noodles and beehoon. Because they don't have an option of a mixed black noodles and beehoon. Thus, buy them separately.

Let's not talk about their black noodles (very normal) but I find the beehoon quite fragrance with that shallot taste. Mister said their chicken wings are good but I find it mediocre. I have yet find the nicest chicken wings in Singapore, yet.

Order(s): Beehoon Set (with drink), Black Noodles Set (with drink), Nasi Lemak

Address: Block 101 Yishun Ave 5 #01-03 Stall 1 Singapore 760101

NUMBER 5 - JJ BIG PRAWN NOODLES

Dry Prawn Noodles

Prawn Noodles Soup
This stall which I always raved made it to my list. It looks like a typical bowl of Prawn Noodles but don't play play hor the soup. The soup is so sweet and flavourful with an nice aftertaste. We will always request a pack or two of their soup. Because if cannot finish, I can freeze it for cooking purpose. Reduce food wastage.

Read here and find out what we did with the soup. And they use chilli powder instead of chilli padi, which is good because it blends with the noodles and ingredients evenly. For someone like me who doesn't like chilli padi but wanted a little spiciness, this is great as I don't need to pick them up or spit it out.

Order(s): Prawn Noodles

Address: 51 Yishun Ave 11, #01-21 Yishun Park Hawker Centre, Singapore 768867

Hope you at least like a little of what I shared here, although no rice options. But not exactly. Stalls like Naina's Kitchen and Hup Lee Chong Pang do have rice options like Nasi Goreng Merah (the former) and Nasi Lemak (the latter). Just that I don't talk about it. And other than Hup Lee Chong Pang which is quite far off my place (even though is still in Yishun), the rest are within my vicinity. Haha... I have also put in the address of each stall. Visit them anytime you want. But I don't know their rest days and opening hours. Lol... Enjoy my dear Foodie peeps! 😋
