This came at the right time with the right weather. We don't do steamboat on normal days unless special occasions (like Lunar New Year) or hosting friends at home. If not, we will just go to any steamboat place and settle it. Because the BTS (Behind the Scene) work can be quite tedious (buy all the ingredients, preparing them, some make their own soup base, presentation and so on. The aftermath: cleaning up and storing the leftovers. 真麻烦 (so troublesome)! Can it be made a hassle-free affair for steamboat lovers to enjoy even at home?
You might already know that because of Covid-19, more F&B outlets began to adopt online delivery services in order to survive the 2 months of Circuit Breaker imposed in Singapore from April to June 2020 (nobody wants to be reminded on that). All ingredients were neatly packed and handled to maintain its freshness and quality, which was the key to capture our palate. We both have our favourites: the Superior Fish Paste, Toman Fish Slices and Chicken Breast Shabu. Equally tender with every bite for all.

WHAT ABOUT THE SOUP BASES?
We got were Pork Tonkotsu Soup (1.5L) and Premium Collagen Soup (1.5L). Simmer daily for at least 8 hours on low fire to bring out the essence of each broth that uses premium ingredients. Conveniently packed in a transparent stand-up pouches which we could store in the chiller or freezer easily without spillage.
The selection of soup bases were quite standard in my opinion. The Pork Tonkotsu Soup was a clear broth with a light taste from hours of simmering. When added with red dates and goji berries (provided), the taste became sweeter and as you put in the ingredients, it became more flavourful.

Guess what I do with the Premium Collagen Soup? I put in a bowl of rice to let it boil. And I'm having Collagen Porridge! So delicious with all the ingredients in it. This broth was slightly richer than Pork Tonkotsu Soup and was savoury too.

Commonly known as bacon wrapped with enoki mushrooms but I changed to pork belly instead. Lightly marinated with salt and pepper.
We could actually go without rice because the meat was enough to fill us up, along with soup. Wanted to add noodles but I'm really full.
Do you actually mix two different broths together? I did so to reduce wastage. It was just as good!

WHAT ABOUT THE DELIVERY SERVICE?
