G-DRAGON MEDIA EXHIBITION: ÜBERMENSCH in Singapore

Honestly, I made the trip from Central to the East just to catch this exhibition (FOMO maybe) though I'm not the biggest fan or VIP of Big Bang or G-Dragon himself, but I do enjoy some of their songs like Fantastic Baby, Bang Bang Bang, Bad Boy, Loser, and from GD’s solo work—Crooked, Too Bad (his latest from the third album), and the old duet with Jennie, Black.

I’ve watched a bunch of Big Bang’s past TV appearances on YouTube and found them really charming as a group (though one of them did mess up their reputation quite badly). And of course, GD's role as a Chanel ambassador and his status as a fashion icon of his generation stands out. I can’t believe I’m like fangirling over a younger idol at 44!

Also, in order to get the Daisy light-stick with a cradle to use as home decor, I have to go for this exhibition to do so. I spent SGD138 on merch, SGD33 on the ticket, SGD4.50 bubble tea to quench my thirst and $4.51 on transport (round trip), totaling $180.01. Didn’t go overboard with the shopping since I had already planned in advance what I wanted to get. A woman with a plan.

The exhibition runs from 1st to 13th October 2025 at Jewel Changi, Level 4 – Changi Experience Studio. I visited on 10th October (Happy 10-10, Taiwan!), which was the fourth last day of the event. My time slot was at 1 PM, but I arrived about 15–20 minutes early, and they kindly let me in anyway.

Thankfully, there wasn’t a large crowd that day unlike what I’d seen in reels from earlier days with long queues for the exhibition and sold-out merchandises. Everything went smoothly for me, and I couldn’t be more grateful as I'm really not a fan of crowds or waiting in line!

Hello Kwon Ji Yong!

I booked my ticket through Klook, so be prepared to have your QR code scanned at the entrance. After that, they’ll give you a wristband and a little keepsake. Once inside, you’re greeted by a hologram of GD himself.

For keepsake

As you move into the next zone, you’ll be met with a stunning display of daisies which presumably his favourite flower and you can see daisies in his fashion line, Peaceminusone too. There was a really pleasant scent in the air too (not sure if it was from the flowers or just clever scenting). Honestly, I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of daisies visually everywhere in that section!

Since you’ve paid for entry, don’t hold back. Snap all the photos you want. Haha!

Bits of highlights of the exhibition

The space itself was quite large, though there wasn't much of GD at the beginning (TV walls about him of course) until you get past the daisy section. From there, you’ll find a section of more TV walls showcasing highlights from his past music projects (on your right side), along with photo spots from his Power music video (on your left side), perfect for getting creative with your photos and videos.

Next, I headed to the VR activity where you get to watch his music video Take Me. For hygiene purposes, you're given an eye mask to wear before putting on the VR headset. If you wear glasses like I do, you'll need to take them off. Thankfully, the experience was still clear enough for me to enjoy without any major issues. For 3 minutes plus experience, worth it because you are looking at him (and the dancers) up-close.

The entire exhibition focuses on a digital and immersive experience and honestly, I’m genuinely impressed by how far technology has come over the past few decades.

Next, I entered the Digital Media Zone, where you can watch him perform Take Me and IBELONGIIU against a minimalist white background. He appears in two different outfits, both of which you’ll recognize from other parts of the exhibition. Now his song Take Me keeps spinning in my mind.

The sensory experience where butterflies flew when you tap gently

The entire exhibition took me about 45 minutes, including a quick stop at the Merchandise Zone on Level 2 to make my purchase (thankfully, there was no queue). There isn’t a whole lot to do inside apart from watching his performances, snapping tons of photos and videos, and enjoying the sensory elements.

If you ask me whether it’s worth it—I’d say probably not.

Even this Daisy requires you to queue for photo-taking

Upon exiting the exhibition, you’ll be handed a merchandise list where you can select what you’d like to buy. At the Merchandise Zone, have your ticket QR code ready to be scanned again before you’re allowed in. Browse the items, tick your choices on the list, and head straight to the cashier to pay. There’s no off-the-shelf shopping here. They’ll collect the items from the back, pack them, and hand them to you at the counter.

Just a heads-up: you can only enter the exhibition and the Merchandise Zone once, so make sure you're fully done exploring and taking everything in before you leave. The same goes for merch, decide carefully what you want to buy, as each item is limited to one per person. After all, that’s what makes it exclusive, right?

I got myself the larger lightstick & puzzle while the smaller one for a friend

This post probably doesn't do full justice to my experience at the exhibition so stay tuned for the full video coming soon on my YouTube channel (fingers crossed I don't get too lazy to edit it!). In the meantime, you can check out my Shorts for a sneak peek especially if you’re not planning to visit.

Enjoy, and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel!
