Sushiro Singapore vs Taiwan | Food Review

Sushiro at Causeway Point

The first time I tried Sushiro was during our holiday in Taiwan, just few months back in March 2024. One of the outlet was just at the ground floor of the hotel we stayed in Taipei. Heard about their raving food quality so decided to have for lunch before flying back to Singapore.

Here I am after 3 months, at their Causeway Point outlet in Singapore with my bestie for her belated birthday dinner. She once told me this place looked kind of expensive and I was hesitating too. But after trying out in Taipei, decided that is worth a try in Singapore too. So I downloaded their app and made a reservation to avoid waiting. Oh you have to check-in when you are outside the restaurant so that they can lead you to your table.

Conveyor Belt Style

Everything is the same in Singapore and Taiwan, just that if you are getting the refillable hot green tea ($1.50), it is within reach from your table in Taipei as compared to Singapore which you have to go to their drinks corner for refill after they bring you the 1st round to the table. They used green tea powder instead of teabags. That's the real deal. Applause please.

Like any other brands (eg. Sushi Express, Sakae Sushi etc), you pick up your plate of food from the conveyor belt and the prices go by the different colour plates from $2.30 onwards. Also there is a 60 minutes time limit if the restaurant is packed. Guess what? My bestie and I were lucky not to be chased out because we sat there for almost 2 hours (120 mins). Hahaha... don't try this when it is packed. And when you order from your table, it is served via the conveyor belt too.

Loving the ginger

I think on every table they have this ginger on the side and it was so appetizing. I never used to like them but as I matured, it kind of fits my taste bud.

Refillable Hot Green Tea

Our Favourite Fried Kani and Prawns Sushi

Our favourite was Fried Kani Sushi .You hardly find any places that can batter and fry the crabstick this nice. I believe is the batter coated over it or maybe it is fried on its own fresh without any batter. It has that sweetness coming from the Kani. I think is not those fake Kani we get for steampot. Hahaha... No doubt on their food quality.

Oh and also Fried Prawn Sushi is in my favourite list too (not sure about my bestie). They did it the way like those puffy fried prawns (theirs not that puffy actually) but loving it! Fresh and springy.

What others we had at Sushiro

The ones on the right were obvious mine because, how can you miss out having some fresh salmon for your Omega 3 intake? And those on the left were my bestie's favourite. Anything that is our favourite will sure have a 2nd serving (or more).

Number of plates we had

We lost count how many plates we had individually but our record this round: 14 red plates of $2.30 each and 4 silver plates of $2.90 each. Bestie was surprised how we manage to eat so much. I thought each of us had 3 plates of that Fried Kani Sushi alone. And me going for the fried prawns a few rounds too. Cost about $60 for this meal. I'm still afraid we will go overboard but quite reasonable.

Matcha Soft Serve

Of course we ended our dinner together with a Matcha Soft Serve. It has that real matcha taste than artificial taste. But can they omit the syrup topping? It will be perfect. Oh by the way, their wet tissue is FOC so you can use without charges.

To conclude, no difference between the 2 places I had Sushiro in terms of their settings. Probably it is cheaper to have in Taiwan than Singapore due to the exchange rate. Pleased with the food at Sushiro too after seeing so much raving reviews when it first opened in Singapore. Worth some calories though is just another conveyor belt sushi chain.
