Sips, Sliders & Style: Exploring The Coach Bar & Beyond

After weeks of back-and-forth messages, a couple of calendar reshuffles, and a lucky snag on the reservation list, a date is finally locked in. My friend and I are headed to The Coach Bar, tucked along the vibrant stretch of Keong Saik Road. It’s not just any bar, this one's been quietly making waves, and from what I’ve seen online, it promises more than just a nightcap. With its sleek New York vibes, hints of heritage, and what I’ve heard is a cocktail menu that flirts with playful nostalgia, expectations are high.

The pinkish outlook of The Coach Bar

As we entered The Coach Bar, we were first welcomed by a yellowish backdrop adorned with bold COACH wordings on the wall, very on-brand and photo-ready. Walking further in, a display of various Coach Tabby bags lined the space like a mini gallery, giving a nod to the brand's fashion roots. Then, just beyond that, we stepped into The Coach Bar itself.

The Coach Bar was small and packed when we arrived, which clearly a popular wind-down spot after work. But the tight and dimmed space meant the noise level was almost unbearable. Everyone seemed to be speaking in a high pitch just to be heard over the next table, which only made things louder, together with the music in the background.

Finally at The Coach Bar

We started off with cocktails. I ordered the Tabby Disco Tea, a refreshing mix of tarragon Grey Goose vodka, house-made lemonade, rooibos tea, and Coach C citrus ice cubes. I really liked the citrusy notes in it. My friend went for the Cosmopolitan, but with a twist: Bombay Sapphire gin, raspberry, cranberry peach liqueur, and citrus. Both drinks were well-made with interesting flavor.

Then came the regret: Caviar by the Bump. For $16, we got a single potato chip with what looked like less than a teaspoon of caviar on top. I mean, how many $16 bites would it take to fill our stomachs? The waiter did mentioned something like it was a one serving or something around there, but it was really too noisy that I couldn't really hear it clearly. Thankfully, we weren’t there for dinner. Right after that, we quickly ordered the Bar Chips to salvage the situation. To split the caviar without wasting a single drop, I topped it on the Bar Chips and my friend had the rest.

The main dish we tried was The Coach Steak Sandwich, packed with tender grilled USDA prime steak in thin strips, together with mild cheddar, peppers, horseradish, all served on house-made potato roll sliders, with curly fries on the side. Nothing fancy, but decent. I’ve realized sliders suit me more than full-sized burgers anyway. Not too filling but satisfying for the tummy at least.

C for Coach

We tried to keep the conversation going over the noise, finished our food, and decided to move on to somewhere a little quieter. The Coach Bar has its vibe, but it’s probably better suited for a quick drink than a night of catching up.

A short visit to the second floor. The cinema lightbox feel.

Before leaving, we made our way up to the 2nd floor—and I’m glad we did.

The Coach Vintage Room was a quiet contrast to the buzz downstairs. It showcased exclusive “reloved” vintage bags that you won’t find in any other Coach store in Singapore. Each item carried a sense of history, style, and character. It felt like you are stepping into a curated archive of timeless fashion.

Next door was the Coachtopia Room, a space that embodies the brand’s “crafted to last” ethos. Coach’s sustainability efforts focusing on repurposed leatherupcycled materials, and made by hand. Inspiring to see how the brand makes effort to rethink fashion through cherished and handed down designs.

“From loud sips to quiet stories, The Coach Bar and its upper floors turned out to be more than just a pretty face.”

If you’re visiting The Coach Bar, don’t skip the upper level (3rd floor has a private event so no luck for immersive experience). It adds depth to the experience and reminds you that Coach is more than just a trendy label. It’s a brand with legacy, craftsmanship, and an eye toward the future.
