Day Out with the Bestie - Orchard Road | Lifestyle

Took a day off to hang out with my bestie because she isn't the type to take leave unnecessary unless no choice. While she went for her appointment early in the morning, I'm not gonna slack too by slotting in a hair treatment before meeting her. Fully utilized my annual leave for sure.

HAIR TREATMENT

Not gonna talk more about where I go for hair treatment so just refer to my blog post here. And after going for many sessions, I learnt that I should wear non-white tops so that to prevent from staining your top from the water droplets from their herbal treatment. Remember that!

Went for my scalp treatment early in the morning and literally their first customer to arrive at 8+am even before they opened their door. Done by 10am+ and headed down to meet the woman at Orchard Road.

BREAKFAST PLACE

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Singapore

Decent breakfast and didn't look any less expensive but actually was a steal at $10.90 for 2 sets. Smarty pants. Cost only $5.45 per pax. So please jio one more person to enjoy this deal. Why not, right?

It consists of Oat Milk Latte and 9-Grains Egg Mayo Sandwich with hash browns. Super power-up and healthy breakfast to start the day.

So seize the chance to catch up more with your loved ones or friends, talk about anything under the sun, while people watching and enjoy the smell of coffee and food. Hahaha...

SHOPPING AT SUPERMARKETS AND BOUTIQUES

After filling up our tum tum, we headed to Takashimaya for a walk. Went to the food section at the basement and into the supermarket.

The plant-based trend. I can try that diet. But when will there be more keto diet options? I did saw it at bigger Fairprice supermarket in Ang Mo Kio which I'm so grateful. Maybe when I go for my hair treatment, I shall go grab them all back.

Bought and drank a bottle of Evian Water at $1.85 for 500ml and the taste was really different.

Went on to Paragon for another supermarket, far more stuff to look at and also wanna buy. Much more expensive than the one at Takashimaya.

Then up to the boutiques shopping and ended up with a card holder from Agnēs B. Simple yet catered to my needs of going out in small crossbody bags. No matter how small my bag is, a small umbrella is a must always. I'm this auntie than risk getting drenched. No way!

Once done with Paragon, started our walk to Shangri-la. At least by walking, we saw things that we seldom did unless we frequent Orchard a lot. And wondering if people work at all because many were wondering around like us. Tai tais or took leave like we did? Haha... I think both.

HIGH-TEA VENUE

Shangri-La Hotel Singapore

My bestie sent me a link on Shangri-la's curated High Tea Set for International Women's Day a.k.a 38 Women's Day called The EmpowHer High Tea Set. $88++ per set (serves 2 pax) so it worked out to about $52 per pax

The high tea was more on the sweet than savoury side and I'm actually fine with the selection of items for all 3 tiers because it looked pretty and also their teas are refillable. The middle tier made me thought of Bengawan Solo. Oops... oh ya the mini quiche and macaron were good too. And don't forget to work your tiers from bottom up. Savoury to sweet.

Also blend yourself into the atmosphere (atas feel) with others talking business and us, minding our own business and enjoying our tea. Haha...

Ended our day at Orchard Road with a walk to the station to beat the peak-hour crowd. The most tiring day because we walked the most under the hot sun. But very happy because we each spent less than $60 (exclude my card holder) at Orchard Road and it was shiok! Coffee place breakfast and hotel high tea. More to come. But save up first. Haha...
